Pics of 234/45-17 on Stock 03 Wheels
Seen a lot of questions about this......so I included some pictures of my new Yokohama's AVS E100 234/45-17 tires. After considering new wheels and tires, I decided to opt for the tires only since improved performance is what I really wanted. Now I can spend the other dollars on Comptech suspension or Bilstein suspension. Got the tires from Discount Tire. Had them on for a few days and the feel and difference from stock tires in incredible. They handle extremely well in turns and low speed acceleration. The grip is incredible on dry and wet surfaces and the car actually feels more "planted." These reinforced tires actually produce less rattles and noises over bumpy roads. The best way I can describe them is that the sounds are more of a "tight thud." The tires are much quieter than my old stock tires. I would rate this tire as the best performance value on the market that has a great contact patch, high load rating of 97, and is reinforced (not to mention that they look great on our car). Evidently, discount tire shop in my area also agrees since this size and tire was the best selling tire on the market for them. Hope the pictures help some others considering this tire/wheel setup. I would highly recommend to others. I guess if someday I still want wheels, I can buy some 17x8 in wheels from OZ, BBS, etc.

I had those tires on my last car....BEWARE of the tread life! I only got about 11k miles before mine started to go bald. (Of course that's with pretty aggressive driving in my Spec V that I had.) Be glad you are in Arizona as well since you dont have to deal with much snow....i had made the mistake of using those tires during the winter... that wasnt too fun!
Otherwise grats on the new purchase! They are IMO of course the best performance tires with decent wet traction for the money!

Okay,
I am now in suspension mode since I have decided to stick with the 235/45 Yokos on my stock wheel. I was thing CT springs with Koni's but am also considering TeinSS. Money wise it would be about the same. Just not sure what I should do since down the line I do want the flexibility of putting 18inch wheels on the car. I would really love to put a Bilstein setup in my car but it is in development for CL (per their website). CT setup would offer stock ride and conservative drop and provide for plus sizing with future 18 inch wheels, but everyone keeps saying that the springs are not made with high quality, etc. I guess I should just call CT and ask what they have done to fix the CT issues from customers. Also, I heard that Eibach is making their springs (is that correct??). What I do know is that I want absolutely no rubbing with a drop. So with that in mind, what should I go with. My Acura dealer is recommending TeinSS over CT.

jlspeed,
I don't have any pics from a far since I was really trying to show everyone the close up shots from different angles, but they look great and the obvious "gap" is no different than the stock setup. After driving in them and noticing the huge improvement in handling and acceleration, I would recommend the 235/45-17 set up. Our cars do come with 215/50-17 setup. I know I am sacraficing tread life for performance, but for little money, the gains are very noticeble and enjoyable. Also, the tires look cool from distance and the rear.

i put 35psi on my 235-45-17 falken azenis st-115s. the acura dealer and falken rep told me to still stick to recommended pressure for our stock tires (32psi). tire store told me to run 35 or higher. but if i wanted slightly better mileage, to go a little higher (like 35psi).

I am running the max pressure on my tires as of today. I have a lot of stuff loaded in my car for the next few days so I need to inflate to 40psi (max on the tire). I will probably not let it go below 35 on the rear and 37-38 in the front. Most of the weight is in the front.

Bridgestone told me to run less pressure, 30 psi. They said to run 30 psi in the 235/45's since that would be close to the same load rating as 32 psi in the 215/50's. As anyone ever heard of this?
