New suspension!!

Hey guys, I currently have tein basics on my car. I love the way they look and there alright for normal driving on good roads. But they arn't stiff enough so I'm ready to upgrade to a slighty better set up for more enthusiastic driving. I've been researching the best I can for the last week or so. I was ready to purchase some function&form type 2s, but honestly I'm scared that there gonna be too low. I searched for pictures of the ride height on the highest settings, and they looked like all the wheels where still tucking. I like being lower but not slammed. I'm starting to wonder if I should just put together a spring/strut combo. I like the hieght of the B&G kit. It has good clearance. I'm tired of scraping every time I pull into my drive way. So what I'm wondering is what coilover could I buy that would give me atleast a 2 finger gap on highest settings if any??? My backup plan is probably B&G springs with tokico illuminas. I'm just looking for some opinions before I blow my money, hopefully by this time next week. Any helpful comments are highly appreaciated, Thanks~

i think the neuspeed supercup kit is a good go. adjustable dampness and 5 height adjustment settings on the strut. Lifetime warranty. Look at Civicdrivr's build thread...he had them on.

Couldnt find it in his thread, but i looked them up and they don't make them with the 5 hieght adujustalbe struts anymore, they come with koni yellows instead. But anyone have the f&f2's on there CL that could tell me if there happy with them or if they'd rather gotten another brand or set up?

If you can wait a few months to switch out your suspension, I would go with the Stance GR+. spoke with them and the should have in stock by June an application for the AV6/CL/TL

Sounds cool, looked at there site, but they'll probably be out of my budget range, and I've already waited the whole winter. I'm ready to get things done, I just need some advice and reasurance. Thanks for your input tho.

what type of range are you looking at? Any good spring/shock combo will run you the same price as a coilover setup usually

Trying to keep it around $1000 for coilovers, most spring/struts I seen are like half that. I dont know why this has to be such a hard decision for me

Well here basically the whole choice boils down to a few things:

1. Do you plan on keeping up with maintenance on the coilovers? You live in the northeast and the roads get salty and that can freeze up the height adjustability of the coilovers unless you oil them throughout the winter months.

2. If you do choose coilovers you really only need basic height adjustable unless you plan on auto-x or some other form of motorsport with your car.

3. Only other real value to coilovers is the fact you can run wider wheels.

A good spring/shock combo could work for your needs of a stiffer ride. Tokico HP/KYB AGX/Koni Yellow would all be good strut options for stiffer ride quality. Depending on the drop you want there's H&R Sport/TEIN S-Tech for the aggressive drop

Alright I think I'm gonna go with the Koni yellow sports and tein s techs unless someone can give me some info on coilovers that can still give me a 2-3 finger gap when I need it and still have the option of being moderalty low when I go to shows or the track.
