New Rims
Hey guys. I just wanted to get a few opinions about these 2 sets of rims. I really like both of them, but I'm still undecided. Both sets are 18" rims, however the Petrol rims can be ordered with the staggered look. 18x8 and 18x9.5. The 9.5's might be too wide. I have not lowered the car "yet" nor have I rolled the fenders.
Petrol Throttle
Here is the second set
Asanti LX 10. These come in 18x7.5 and 18x8.
I know the bolt pattern's fit, but am not sure what offset to get with 18's. I'll check the forums. Let me know what you guys think. Oh, by the way, i have a 2001 CLS black.

I'm not sure what the weight of the wheels are. I tried looking online, but did not see anything specifying the weight. I didn't look too hard either. Quick question, does the weight play a role on how the car handles? I chose these two sets of wheels because a) i got what i think is a pretty good deal, and b) they give the car a different look. Both wheels are machine with machine black. The pictures look like they are chrome however. Anyhow, besides the TL rims which do look great by the way, what else would you guys recommend.
Oh, and i will be getting new springs next weekend, so the drop is coming!

the lips are never that big those are just the default pics rim websites post of the rim. websites always post a pic of the rim that has the biggest lip possible to get you to like the rim. i bet the actual offset on that rim is way too low for our cars.

And yes, heavy ass wheels will affect handling, acceleration and braking. If I had to guess, the first wheel is at least 28lbs and the second is at least 30lbs; and thats being conservative.
To put that in perspective, stock wheels are about 26lbs which is heavy as is. Add two pounds (at least) of unsprung weight at each corner and you will feel it.
