Need a picture of the passenger side suspenson of a 2gen CL please

The mechanic that installed my springs & struts put the passenger side back together with the outer boot touching the shock fork (I am guessing that is what it is called, it's the part that bolts to the strut and attaches everything to the lower control arm)

I know 100% this is what happened because he replaced both boots & 20 miles later the outer boot is destroyed.

I tried to get a printout of the parts catalog but had to go to Honda to get it as the Acura dealer was out of stock but at least gave me the Honda part # since Honda acts like it is a Toyota when I ask for parts.

I am hoping for a picture of the correct orientation so he can get it right the THIRD TIME

Thanks it does not really help it has the shock by it's self & everything else minus the shock.

Neither have the axle.

I need to show him how it all goes together WITHOUT the axle touching.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it only goes back together one way. Is the pinch bolt on the fork on the back side?

Negative.

Hard to believe this boot has less than 50 miles on it.

This is the axle & shock before they went back in. From the DIY it seems he did not need to remove the axle.

I'll be showing him this picture if he tries to say the boot was damaged when he installed the suspension.

Thanks Allout that is what I needed to know.

He did it when he installed the suspension and then replaced the boots without realizing it was going to be destroyed. I will be there tomorrow morning when he opens.

The entire shock was backward, he pulled it, put it on the spring compressor, turned it around, replaced the boot and refunded the money I paid Friday.

All is as it should be.

Glad the shop is honoring their work. I would think he would have to work pretty hard to install the fork backwards as it's much harder to line up.

The fork was on right, (there was a flat spot on the shock that mated to a flat spot on the fork) At first he started to say the vendor sent two left shocks because the Koni Sticker was on the inside.

I pointed out the other one was on the inside.

Not in those pictures. The bolt is supposed to be on the inside, not the outside as he has it.

Either way it's fixed so thats good.

The fork only goes on the shock one way, the shock was backwards, hence the fork was backwards.
