Need Advice from spring owners
Here is my goal :
1)Drop my car 1 1/2in. front & back.
2)Stiffen the ride for quicker handling.
3)At the same time be sure it wont rust and squeak like some ive heard.
4)And still be able to fit my 235/45/18 on 18x7.5 wheels without rubbing...
Thanks in advance
P.S for spring owners can you include the price you paid for your springs and install?

What exactly are you asking for? suggestions for springs?
1) H&R Sports (51858 or 50103), Teins, Tanabe all drop about that much. I have the H&R 51858 springs, paid $127 shipped but it looks like the price was raised to $247 shipped. And I paid $300 for install of spring and shocks at the same time.
2) Wider wheel base with wider/lower offset wheels + lower center of gravity with springs will help. You might want to consider adding strut and sway bars to stiffen it further. I haven't done this yet, but plan too in the future. And you will sacrifice ride quality for sure.
3) Rust is not usually a problem. You might stay away from the Comptech springs if you're that concerned.
4) That shouldn't be a problem as long as your wheel offset is above +45
P.S. for shocks I went with Tokico Illuminas (they're adjustable, and $365 shipped on eBay), check the sig for pics.

Some friendly advice -- use the Search hyperlink above and check out the FAQ (linked in my signature). This will answer most of your question.
Most aftermarket springs will do the drop you want. You're not asking for that much. The rust issue was only with the older version (grey coated) Comptech springs. Unless you buy used springs, this won't be an issue for you.
Rubbing tires has more to do with a wheel's offset then drop (unless you're talking 3"+ drop).
To improve handling, you might want to look into aftermarket shocks to go with your new springs, either that or go with a full coilover setup. It depends on your needs & wants. Also think about aftermarket sways. If you have the funds, you'll be happier doing the full suspension improvement at one sitting.
Suspension installs run between $150-$350 depending on where you go. For an gross average, figure on the going shop hourly rate x 3-4 hours.

I agree, most springs will give you the drop you are looking for. I just got the Eibach Pro-Kits installed and the drop is perfect. As far as driving on these Boston roads though, thats another story. The condition of these roads + a stiffer ride hasn't been much fun.

Chod's FAQ is dated, but most of the stuff in it still pertains to your car. It's all true. It was compiled from the myriad of posts on Acura-CL.com.
With respect to suspension, the only thing that's changed is the Comptech springs. New Comptech springs are just a rebranded Eibach pro-kit.

I now drive an accord....
My prefrence is the H&R sports (50103) and I pad about 200 shipped. Did the install my self for free..........its easy if you have basic mechanical knowlege
I got tokico blue struts because I didn't need or want the adjustability, but I would recommend the tokico illuminas or koni yellows if you want them adjustable.

Question #1)
After searchin through post after post ive decided to buy H&R sport springs (Model # 51858) and install them on my stock shocks. Anybody object?
Question #2)
now the next question is, should i change my shocks now too? currently i have 44k on the stock shocks and if im gonna have to change them in a 10 or less thousand miles (appr. 6 months) id rather change them at the same time.
If yes to question 2)
What shocks should i go with?

Idealy id rather have the adjustables only because boston roads SUCK! But i hate the idea that i have to remove my rear seat. what even happened to clicking them w/ the car lifted? I dont care as much about the extra price for install and the parts. but i do care about tearing my car apart to adjust them. =(
