My Snow tires/rims are in ( 3days only)! Wow, ordered on Friday, and I got a call from the Twon fair tires' sales rep that my winter tires/rims are in!
But ..... not single snow flake, Temp is in mid 50s for the whole week. A quick look at the weather forcast, no single snow flake for nexr 10 days!!!
What should I do? keep running on my summer tires? or go ahead and switch?

I'd wait. It's not that hard to make the switch when needed. This, of course is assuming you've got a place (garage) to do it. If not, I'd still wait. Enjoy your 3 season tires as long as possible....

dude... just have the snow tires mounted/balanced and keep them waiting in the garage.
it supposed to be 65 here tomorrow.
certainly not weather for snow tires.
all your gonna do is give yourself a shitty ride and wear your snows out before they even see any real action.

It seems that Late afternoon Tommorrow and Sunday Northeast will get its first Snow storm of the year.
Up to 8" of snow is forcasted.....
Time to switch to the Blizzaks. I will be at Town Fair Tire to do the swap sometime tommorrow morning!
We will see..

I switched to the new blizzaks just 5 hrs before the first snow storm of the year in New England. I drove on fresh snow up to 60 MPH, where all others cars are doing 40-50. The car seems handle great. However, overconfidence could lead to disasters..
I did some locking brakes on steep downhill and ABS activated and the car stopped in couples meters. Cornering is acurate with no sliding. Hydroplaning on non-packed snow is noticable but manageble.
I like the Blizzaks MZ-02 so far, way better than the stock tires.
On dry pavement. The Blizzak has a nice ride, quiet, less harsh then the 235/40/18. Now, hitting potholes is like you are driving a mon's camry.

if one goes for 3 season tires and a set of snows, when do you switch over?
At a certain temperature, or when you know it will snow???
Could you run with Toyo's at 25 degrees in December with no snow, or with rain?? Or once it goes below 40 do you switch?
