load index question. need help, please

load index question. need help, please

hello, i am purchasing some 225/45/17 summer tires. they have a load index of 91. is this acceptable...considering the stock michilins are a load index of 93?

If you go by what Acura recommends in the owners manual, then no... 91 isn't enough. 93 is the reccommended load index. I can't and won't recommend anything other then what Acura recommends. They have alot smarter engineers then me

It's your car, so you're going to have to decide for yourself how much you have riding on your tires, but I went w/ the stock size w/ a 93 index (yokohama V4).

I tend to overbuy on tires... When I had to buy tires for my VW bus (close to 4000lbs) C load range (6ply) were recommended, but I went w/ the D load range (8ply).

Depends...do you drive around a lot of stuff or people?? Just maintain a higher psi....most of us run our cars underinflated anyway.
