Exclamation koni yellow assembly questions

Hi there,
I just got my koni from a member on the forum. Pictures below (1st and 2nd) are what I received in mail. Can anyone who has koni tell me if I am missing anything? It looks like there suppose to come with "rings" where the spring seat will sit on. And the ring is sitting on the top of this "circhip" thing (3rd and 4th picture below). Also, how does the assembly for those white washer, nuts, and stuff come about? Please help, thanks very much.

finally the spring seat that sits on the ring:

Thanks for the help. Is this the only sheet that koni includes in the package? Thanks.

i figured out what are those nuts, and washers for now.. but the koni doesnt come with the rubber "dustcover", and bumpstop. Should I order from koni or I can use stocks? But again, the washer on the top of the stock shocks is welded on there, I can't get the rubber thing off it. Please advise.

I seem to recall re-using the stock bump stops and dust covers...but it was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Jefyncs,
You can reuse the original dustboots (it looks like a rubber bellows. it is sandwiched between the washers item #'s 1 and 2. It protects the strut shaft) if its not torn or ripped.
You can also reuse the bumpstop bushing (a much harder rubber bushing. its under the dustboot) . You may have to lubricate it to slide it from the shaft and then you're supposed to enlarge the inner diameter with a round (rat tail) file from 10mm to 12mm to fit the larger shaft of the Koni. Then slide the bumpstop over the Koni's shaft past the welded shaft limit stop.
Pay attention to the diameters of the steel washers, items # 1 and 2, the large one goes above the dustboot. see the drawing.
The white washer goes around the shaft, between the bumpstop and the top of the strut housing.
Item # 3 is the short steel tubing slid down over the shaft.
And finally, you reuse the upper spring perch (make sure the cupped washer item # 4 is facing up) before tightening the nut and then the lock nut, items # 5.
You already undestand how the circlip works.
Just a question? In picture #1 it shows 5 possible circlip positions. the middle one is standard and how Koni ships them out. you can move it if you want, although I think if it's moved more than one slot lower you will get tire rubbing. that's would just be too low.
My question is, the other pictures seem to show only two slots for the circlip (upper position is how they're shipped). Do you have mismatched pairs of struts? The 2 slotted type is the first style Koni's and the 5 slotted style is the Koni/Nuspeed brand.
If you have the mismash, make sure you have the same style on each axle and go with the middle perch on the 5 slot and the upper perch on the 2 slot. that should work but you'll be experimenting with this setup. I don't recall anyone else trying that setup.

hey man,
Thanks very much for the help. I think I am doing this on the right track now. Thanks, and no, the 2 perches koni is just a picture I got from some website, I wanted to know if there suppose to come with a ring that sits on the circhips, and then spring seat sits on the rings. The koni this guy has in the picture has this metal ring, and I don't have it. But I think I am just going to do without it, shouldnt make any difference I don't think.

Thanks again man. Let you know when I am finished.

hi there,
I think for 2003 cls model, the stock dust cover and the bumpstop comes in one piece, at least mine is. Can anyone who has 2003 confirm this? One guy advise me to just put the entire asssembly of the bumpstop and the dustcover on there while some suggest not having the dustcover. Please advise.

ps: ""screw 'em"", Thanks for being so helpful. I cant seem to PM you...

bottom black rubber is one piece that consist of bumpstop and dustcover:

I just got everything installed, after knowing the assembly of the shock with its hardware, it went pretty much straigtforward. It took me much less time than last time. I finished everything in less than 3 hours, cool. Thanks you'all for all the help, and man.. I love this forum.
