Help: Question on BBK

I have an 01 CL-P with 18x7.5 axis mod withan +42 offset. No i want to get a Big Brake Kit and i dont think it will fit with my rims and i think some ppl mentioned wheel spaces so my questions are

1. Do wheel spaces hinder performance in any way at all.

2. Do i really need the BBK cos i just got the legend calipers and also got Comptech brake lines that i was going to put on as soon as i got back to ATL.

PS, i drive 120mph daily to exercise my car.

Thanks
George

I think the Legend Calipers and SS brakelines will be fine. And you should not need spacers with the Mod Se7ens and a 42 offset. In fact spacers will more than likely cause some rubbing with that offset.

Offset has nothing to do with the use of spacers. The backspacing of a wheel does. You have to insure that the backspacing of the face of the wheel is greater than 2mm or you will run into major problems.

WIth my RJ wheels, the backspacing was about 1.5 without spacers. Feeling uncomfortable, I added 5 mm spacers. Piece of mind....

It's not so much the offset, but rather the design of the disk and spokes.

If you are not planning on road racing your car, then you do not need a big brake kit. You will be more than fine with the Legend calipers, SS brake lines, good pads and fluid. You will save hundreds of dollars.

BBK are for RACE use only! thats the disclaimer that actually came with my calipers. and for good reason. any BBK should be really strong, too strong in my opinion for the street. the problem is that you will not be able to fully utilize the power of a BBK because the roads suck!
if the stock brakes can get us to the limit of grip under heavy braking, you really need a smooth surface to get the full effect of the extra braking force of the BBK calipers. the only good thing about the BBK is less warping and reduced fade. if you havent experienced fading on your brakes currently, then you definately do not need a BBK.
