Grand Touring/Performance/High Performance

I'm ready for new all season rubber on my 01 CL-S. I'm wondering what category of tires I should be looking at to keep a sporty but not punishing ride. My old tires are Falken Ziex 512's, which I've never been especially thrilled with. They give a decent ride, but the responsiveness and grip has never felt where I wanted it to be.

I installed Koni Yellows on my car and now the ride is a little harsh even on their lower settings. I don't want to sacrifice crisp turn in, but I also don't want to have a punishing ride.

Should I be looking at some Grand Touring tires like the Continental Pure Contacts, or something in the High Performance Category such as Toyo Proxes 4 Plus?

The Falkens are considered High Performance but never really felt like it to me. I've driven my friend's '08 Maxima SV with both the OEM tires and the Continental Pure Contacts. The Conti PC's have great grip and a comfortable ride but aren't quite as crisp as the OEM rubber. If people seem to think that the Conti's will be more responsive than the old Falken's I'll probably just pull the trigger on that.
