Finally Dropped. . .
Finally Dropped. . .
I finally put my suspension on yesterday, and well I'm a little un-happy with the result. The front seems to sit much higher than the rear. I thought the Pro Kit was supposed to be an even drop, thats why I went with it. I mean all in all it looks good, I just wish the rear was a little higher so the drop looked more even. . .Ya know. I haven't had the chance to take any pictures yet due to the horrible weather we've been having here, but don't worry they'll be up as soon as possible!!!
give her time to settle my man. Give it like 50 miles of driving and then form a final opinion. Also, keep in mind that with the way the wheel wells are cut the rears will have less tire gap than the fronts given the same drop.
if you want to check the levelness of the drop measure from the ground to the jack plates on a level surface.

Yeah what underst8 said. Its just the way that the rear fenders are cut. And it will settle some more with time as well. Its too early to tell now, but I thought the prokit drop was supposed to be lower too, but we'll find out soon enough.

its about time my man. it looks good. so how do she ride now. I want to do the same setup. i have h&r's and the car was good the first few thousand miles but now its kind of crappy. I need new shocks, so i figured why not do all eibach.
Ride quality is awesome!! I'd say its the same, if not better and smoother than stock. The only thing I'm not lovin is that the fronts higher than the back. . .But hopefully it settles down in the next week or so and evens outt

yours should settle a good bit. just give it some time, it may take a few weeks of driving.

i took off the ring, created a kink so the bolt clears, drilled the fork just a little because the bolt has a little angle because i opened the circle a little, now i can bolt the fork about 0.5'' higher on the shock, giving near 0.75" additionnal drop (near equal wheel gap F / R).
for days and weekends, i searched and analysed about every springs for the CL (even installed Tein High Tech that i took off the next day and sold them losing $100) and that's the simplest way of not going coilovers with a 6 MT and get an even drop. i chose Tanabe NF210 because i wanted a subtle drop, i still have 3 tight fingers wheel gap.

yeah so ?
it would take me no more than ½hour to do it again.
even if i'd replace my struts every year i'd do it. i'm a tech at acura, so i don't pay any labor.
i'm not in the project of replacing the shocks this year yet. (i'm paying a piece of land to build a house, that's my major project of expenses).

very interesting...i'm also looking for a suspension setup for my cls6 and am aware that the aftermarket springs are designed for auto's and thus is the reason why the 6spd's sit higher in the front...but i don't know too much about suspension stuff...does this tweek that you made affect safety or anything? is that piece that you removed very necessary? i think your info may also be helpful to the original poster too...thanks for the info man
it doesn't affect safety in any way.
it's there to set the height and position of the shock, so that it'll have the same installed height from one to another, the kink will be at the right height and will be exactly where it should be on a rotation side of view. the shock enlarges at that point and the fork is smaller than the enlarged part. well tighten, it will never move.
the feeling is a little weird at first because it's like if the car leaned a little, but i got used to it quickly. i think the original fenders heights are at least 1/4" higher in the front, so to get an equal gap, the car will be leaning 1/4"
my car is in storage right now, in about a month or so, snow should be almost gone and i'll take my ride out. i'll be able to take pics
can you repeat that please ?
i have a discount on original parts, but all aftermarket parts i order elsewhere because we have crappy distributors with high prices and long delays. i buy mostly online.
i had Koni yellows that i loved in my del sol... i'll probably order koni again for the CL when i get some loose cash.

I have over 100lbs of audio in the trunk, and my car sits pretty even...would definitely be more even if I took that system out! Eibach Pro-Kit w/ Tokiko Illuminas

Yeah. . .theres tons of other members on here with the eibach pro kit springs and different shocks and their cars dont look remotely close to mine. It's gotta be the shocks! I'm givin it another week to settle and if it still looks as uneven as it does now, those shocks are coming off and I'm ordering some Tokicos or somethin else to replace them.
Could it be possible that the guy that did my suspension put the wrong springs in the back?? Cause I was talking with a fellow member on here and he said he never encountered anything like that with his pro kit drop and doubts that those shocks have anything to do with the ride height. I need to find out why it's sagging so much in the rear and so high in the front. . .usually thats opposite, ya know. Any help or info. would be greatly appreciated!!
calm down man, it doesnt look that abnormal in the pics. pretty typical for a prokit on stock shocks.
shoulda DIY the install man. its easy and woulda saved you a lot of money. plus you would have known if it was done right!

Exactly what he said! I have the Comptech springs (same as pro-kit) with Koni yellow's and also have the that effect of the front being larger then the rear. The 6 spd's are lighter then the auto's and the design of the wheel well will make the stance look like that. I compared it to my friends CL-S auto. Even if you switch the outcome will be the same. If you dont like it go with coilovers but I have not one complaint with my suspension set up. Dont worry, it bothered me in the begining but eventually it wears off. Trust me you dont want to be lower then that with these roads lately. You can still botom out easily!!
True. . .you think the front will settle over time? I'm just worried that when I throw my 18''s on in the spring I'm gonna be rubbing like a bitchh. . .Especially when I have people in my backseat
interesting, sell them why you can and get coilovers!
the 6spds couldnt be THAT much lighter up front...there are weights inside the front bumper to offset the difference in the weights of the 2 models.

I shoulda just went with coilovers from the beginning. . .Oh well, hopefully its something I can fix. . .At least I have some time before the spring to find out what the problem is and resolve it.
Pro Kit
I have the pro kit on stock struts also a 6spd and mine sits the same way. But the weird thing is that my buddy which is also on the forum has a 6spd with pro kit for an accord and his sits level. I believe the accord kit is a 2"/2" which you would think would sag more in the rear. I hate it but I will get coilover later.
its cool. someone offered to sell me prokit for an accord but i just got the h&r sports and thought the prokit was gonna be to low. looking at it know, i wish i would of went with the pro kit. i'm not really feeling the rake look. Plus the left rear is a lil higher than the right. The h&r sports were never designed for the cl in the first place.

Yo, the pics look good from cam phone. what phone do u have?
