Everyone with 45+ offset rims please respond

Hey everyone. I will tell you my problem. I got an 03 CL-S with 19x7.5 Niche F-16's with 235/35/19 tires. I also have the Eibach Pro-Kit installed. I have had my fenders cut out. I still rub when I go around a corner at 10+ mph or if I have 2+ people in my car.

The reason why I asked for you to read this post is if you have an offset of greater than 45, please post rims/tire/offset sizes for me. I need to find some new rims hopefully 19x7.5-8.5 with at minimum of 48mm offset.

are you rubbing front or back?

maybe you should try 225/35-19 tires before replacing the rims.

have you already rolled the rear fender lips?

you may have to shave off some plastic fender liner in the front.

I've had 5 people in my car......I have rubbed one time, I drove over a 10 inch high speed bump.....the rubbage was very minimal, it didn't leave a mark on the tire at all!!

it's just got a few bolts that hold it in place...but i have the easiest cheapest solution for you...goto your local auto parts store and look for spring blocks....the ones i use(for a different reason than you) are rubber rectangles with notches for the coil...they can be installed on the tall side or the short depending on desired effect...jack the car up alittle place one on each side of each coil...and your car will probablly raise a 1/4 inch in the rear ...and simultaneously have that much less spring travel...4 bucks...
i use them to reduce rear end squat under heavy acceleration

it may not be the fender in the back thats rubbing, it may be the bumper, from my experience, alot of the bumper needs to be trimmed...

i have dronell D-06 18 x 7.5 with 235 40 18 Falken 451

i did have some rubbing before but only the rear even with no paseenger But after i raised up the rear about .5 inch with my koni yellow shocks, now even i fit 4 ppl in my car there is still no rubbing unless i hit a Really big dips. and i have H&R sport with about 2" drop all around after settle

the easist solution is get new rims with higher offset
but if u dont want to, then get Stiffer adjustable shocks and raise the rear
OR go get 225 40 18 tires

PS: i dont know wuzup with my Cl... i had some rims that was 18x8.5 with 38 offset... the rear rubbed like a bitch but the front was perfectly ok even tho the tires were sticking out so much

Just start a new thread asking for rim suggestions with an offset of +48 or higher and any other details/requirements you may have.

Pardon my pessimism, but if you tried to drive over a TEN INCH high speed bump you would still be stuck there.
This is considering the fact that the clearance of an unmodified CL-S is only about 7 or 8 inches.

2003,

I have basically the same setup as you, and when I rolled my fenders and stiffen up my strut, it still rubbed a little when I take a corner too fast or have 3+ passengers. I added the Comptech Sway and that helped a little when I take sharp corners fast.. but still having the problems when I put to many people in the back (like 1 or more)

I'm considering going down to 18's because I've not seen anyone with 18's that have problems.

yeah, i got the same setup with the same offset and my car doesn't rub, it's probably the rear camber that is messing with your car, or the large tread of your toyo tires, my nitto 235/35/19 dont rub at all.
