Driving on donut

I recently got a flat tire and had to put the donut on (driver side rear). I have a road hazard warantee on my tires so I can get a free replacement but it won't be available until Wednesday or Thursday (they just ordered it). Just how safe is it to drive on the donut? What would the maximum distance be? I live about 15 miles from work but I'm not sure on the rules of the spare tire.

The longest I had mine on was for 2 days and I didn't have a problem. Of course they are recommended as a bandaid, but I think it should be OK. Just don't go too fast and check the tire pressure every chance you get. It should be fine.

I drove with my donut for 10 days before getting my car to the shop.... just don't drive to fast. A couple times after driving over 70mph, my tire pressure dropped significantly from the 60psi it should have been. Don't do any stunt driving and you'll be ok for a while.
