Nice Work! They look good.
I have the same strut tower bar as you. I never bought the chassis brace because I am really low and afraid of scraping it or bending it etc.

richardparker 03-30-2010 05:50 PM

If you did the springs and both bars at the same time it must feel like a whole new car.
I think that lower tie bar would do alot.
But when driving I put obsticals under the car,That bar would'nt last too long I'm thinking.
I already bang I lot of ground on the eibach's.

richardparker 03-30-2010 05:57 PM

Is it possible to flip the bar for more clearnce,or would the down pipe be in the way ?

I did the springs first, than after a week I put the Cusco FSTB in. Then I put the lower bar in after a week. I can feel a difference in each mod.

As far as clearance, it's really not as bad as people would say. I was concerned about it A LOT! If you go lower than the Eibach spring drop than you might have issues. The only issue I had was a trash bag on the road I couldn't dodge and didn't see it come out the back so the bar was actually dragging it...

The good thing about the bar is it's position. The position of the bar is where the wheel is... so, if you go up a speed bump the bar would obviously go up with the car.

civicdrivr 03-30-2010 10:45 PM

Got them from Marcus @ MrHeelToe.
Marcus had to get them in from Japan. I paid a little more to have them expedite the shipping. Every penny worth spending.

Sweet setup dude!

97BlackAckCL 03-31-2010 09:49 AM

I have the lower brace on my 1G CL and it makes a world of difference, drop and such looks good. Bump for marcus (heeltoe) The best place to get cusco stuff

I just hit a fat ROCK. There is a nice scratch on the lower bar but wow! the sound was not pleasant AT ALL.

civicdrivr 04-01-2010 09:14 PM

^ Im afraid to run the lower bar for that very reason.

Nersh7 04-01-2010 11:30 PM

well the fact that, that only took three days makes me not want this so much any more

richardparker 04-02-2010 12:05 AM

It's a nice piece for track use.
Everyday driving it's bound to have issues.
Some one thats good with welding should try fabbing up one that fits really tight for more clearance.
I'm sure alot of us would get one if it was more practical for the street.

PKIM 04-04-2010 03:36 AM

As much as I love it I think I am going to take it off and just save it for track use. I haven't ran into any more issues but I am so paranoid when I am driving. I have my eyes open 0_0. I want to pleasantly drive.

I had the bar installed for longer than three days. I had it on for about 2 weeks+ Just took me a while to get off my lazy ass and post pics.

The lower bar has to pivot I think because it's bolted directly to the lower arm.
No pivot spot in this set up would cause serious binding till snapage of something : lower arm,or bars mounting bracket or bolts.
A hard enough hit with that bar could have you looking for alinement issues for days, if you could not see what was bent after.
I do like the bar.
Auto cross or time attack is where you will see how well it performs.

97BlackAckCL 04-04-2010 01:45 PM

wait till you scrape it :hide:

It doesn't bolt to anything that moves.

I thought it bolted directly to the lower arms.
Where is the mounting location ?
Any pictures of where/how it's mounted ?

friesm2000 04-04-2010 11:06 PM

it bolts to the lower subframe bolts that bolts it to the body, not quite the lower arms but very close to the arms mounting points though, so it still does stiffen it up

03type_s6speed 04-05-2010 07:31 PM

how is the ride with the eibach lowering springs, like is it harsh and feel every bump? do you have stock struts?

It's not bad... with any drop you will sacrifice comfort. I do feel bumps more than stock but the eibach drop is comfortable. I am on stock shocks also.

The drop isn't as low as I would want you can tell by the pics. I am going to get the Koni Yellows so I can drop it a little more.
