Coilover Springs for $24.99???

Anybody seen these from XYZ Racing? I ran a search and couldn't find anything.
Any feedback is appreciated.

If you can't afford to do it right, its better to just not do it at all.

I agree completely. I guess I was just hoping this was an amazing deal (maybe the company was going out of business and had to liquidate or something).

I mean it's ok to go with cheap cold air intake, or anything not specific to needing high quality parts. If you look around, the cheapest route you can go for a legitimate suspension upgrade is around $600 for springs/shocks, or coilovers which start $675. Shortcuts on your car's suspension could mean a fatal accident on the highway. Mod safely!

Yeah, I drive pretty aggressive and the last thing I need is to fly off the road. What do you think about just getting Tein S or Eibach Pro Kit springs and leaving everything else stock (unless I need a camber kit). This seems like a cost effective way to get the look I want without neglecting safety or performance. I know it wouldn't be as much of an upgrade but I don't want to downgrade the ride and feel of the CL either.

To be honest, if you want a professional job. The best thing to do is to take off your original springs, grab a hacksaw and cut them to the desired drop and then pop them back on.

This is by far the safest and best way to drop your CL. There is actually no reason to even spend your $24.99.

Getting the Tein S-Tech or Eibachs would be fine, but your stock shocks would eventually wear out so you'd need to replace those.

Spring cutting, personally I wouldn't recommend it. I don't know much about suspension specifically, but I've heard of lots of problems with spring cutting. They're set at the coil they are for safety and ride comfort. You can lose that comfort and also prove problematic with other things.

Again, with a crappy suspsension set up, you can potentially put your life and others in harm. I'd say be patient, save up and get it done right. Keep in mind if having installed, the springs w/ alignment would cost somewhere in the range of $250.

And thank you It wasn't easy. Took a lot more effort than I originally thought. But in the end everyone got their money back.

To start off, just go out and get the 2004 TL rear sway bar from excellerate. This is a direct replacement for our rear sway. Go buy some universal polyurethane bushings for the rear. For a total of $135 bucks, you get a serious serious suspension upgrade with minimal ride lose.

By the way, I was kidding about spring cutting. Please no one ever try that unless you have a death wish.

Sways are the best bang for your buck, even better than shocks and springs in terms of performance.

I believe with tein and eibach you need a camber kit for sure. however with H&R Sport you don't. H&Rs ride real nice, drop the car evenly, reduce body roll and again are very comfortable for a lowering spring. My brother installed K-sport coilovers in his Maxima for example and I just hate riding in his car, it's way too stiff. when sitting in the back you can feel you stomach contents flipping up and down

Thanks again everyone! I can't believe people would consider cutting their springs on a CL as the above link mentioned. Just crazy....
