Exclamation Coilover Question

So I'm up late looking at things I can't afford (as usual) and I'm taking a liking to these coils. Anyone know anything about them? Pros/cons? Basically I want to go as low as I can, willing to do all the necessary things that go with all that fun stuff. Really they interest me mainly cause of the price, but the big concern is low. If they are stiff, noisy, etc etc I don't care, low is the goal here. Thanks guys.

Yes those will slam the car. Here is another option that will lower it the same amount or more.

Is there any compatibility issues since those are technically for the same year Accord?

How so? Like I said I'm not looking for handling or anything like that I can stand a bumpy ride and such.

for what you're looking for, the list he gave should be perfect. they're fine, they get you super low...I care about ride quality and ease of adjustment etc...I have tein.

Longevity.

I dont care about a stiff ride either, but I do care about quality. KSport/Megan/FF has a long ways to go before they get there.

And Im not a fan of Teins either, but thats another topic.

Cool

I was gonna go for the Tein Basics, i found a set for 689 shipped. They said u can go 3"s lower with em. It seems like the best buy. Any other opinions? Anyone have pics of a CL on Basics? I seen the ones on the Tein site but any others?

My CL (stock) and CBR (not stock)

A lot of people run the Basics, but then upgrade. The Basics are just that - basic. They tend to bottom out often due to the soft springs. The problem with a lot of coil overs on the market is that they are mainly for appearance purposes, not for performance.

Which is what I want Morgan, appearance. Low is all I need and I want to know what's the best for that without spending $1,000 dollars.

Well ok but Im just looking for "Basic" coilovers, i dont plan on racing it. I just want a daily driver with a nice stance and performace. The CL is not a race car by any means. Its pretty heavy and has more than moderate torque steer. For "looks" and street/sport performance im assuming TEIN is better than Megan, Form&Function, or equivalents. TEIN is at least a very popular big brand company. Im sticking with them. I cant stand this stock height anymore.

I get that, and Ive done the same thing before. Twice. Thats why I say stay the fuck away from KSport and the like. Then again, I do put a lot of miles on my cars and I tend to beat the shit out of them.

But if all you really want is stance, go for it.

Youll end up disliking the Basics. The method for lowering that Tein uses (spring perch) takes away from the strut travel, so you end up bottoming out. If youre so infatuated with sticking with Tein, then get the SS'. They still use an adjustable spring perch, but they are a bit more adjustable.

I spent Tein SS money on a set of custom sprung/valved AMRs and the car certainly doesnt feel like the 3500lb boat it is. I am by no means saying AMR is the best on the market - they arent. But for the price point and warranty, they are definitely my go-to for daily duties.

^^^you are probably more qualified to talk about it than most.

I have SS, I had megans and although I do agree that it's nice to keep preload separate from height, I found it annoying to make even adjustments. I like how straightforward the Teins are with the perch, the build quality and especially the smooth ride. That said, you are not looking for a smooth ride, and I'm almost maxed out on the Teins, that's probably less than 1/2 what you can lower the car with the Megans/FF's/etc...

This is about 1/4" threading from the bottom for a TEIN SS.

You could essentially lay the car on the ground due to the fully threaded shock bodies.

Love my tein basis, perfect for what I want appearance wise and the price from Josh and Casey at XLR8 was great. Excellent ship times and quality service, I will use them exclusively from now on since they have earned my business.

Tre, I don't know why you would want to go so low? You already have wheels so why not get the basis and make them work around the wheel. If you wanted a hella flush stance and what not, I would think you shoulda gotten the wheels after you saw the drop and then rolled fenders and whatnot.

I want to go low simply because low is the goal here. IMO there's nothing else worth spending the money on for the car other than putting it on the ground. Personally I'd prefer air ride, but I really don't have several thousand just for suspension work lol. Plus I got springs cause the stock ride height is way too high, and I won't be getting coils for some time, and the wheels just came up out of nowhere since I needed tires and a friend was selling the package. Trust me, when the time comes to slam her, it will be done properly.

Troof! But it won't be for the natl meet. I have other small things planned to be done for that.

Anyone else running amr's other than civicdrivr? I wish there was more options when it comes to the same design as megan racing and amr's. I really like the edfc feature if I ran the tein ss but their design loses suspension travel and that's one of the main reasons I haven't bought a set. I need to make up my mind asap because I'm getting sick of having a wheel gap lol.

AustinTaper just got a set not too long ago. E30Cabrio has a set on his 350Z. There are a few people with 6G Accords running them over on v 6 p.
