Going back to mount the other in a little bit and dismount the other 2.
Got another 2 1/2 - 3 hrs to do the others.

Since he refused to accept responsibility I'd file a claim for significantly not as described, I assume his description did not include "DO NOT HOLD AIR"?

Ask for the amount that it cost to get them to hold air plus 40/hr for your time & .56/mile to take them back & forth.

Good luck.

This is the exact ad.
It says at the botom ,as is.
And I did not pay attension to it because I thought it was just the way he was describing that his wheels were nice when he said "AS IS VERY NICE.
I did not think it was AS IS .
Since it was togther as a sentence.
And thats all he keeps saying,"they were as is".
Do you think I can still file a claim and be successful ??????????

Seems to me he listed a minor cosmetic flaw as the only flaw. Therefore not holding air is not stated and is a MAJOR FLAW in a rim seeing (IMHO) as that is 85% of a rims purpose.

You have nothing to lose by filing.

^^^because he had already provided positive feedback. If I'm not mistaken that releases the funds from paypal. Either confirmation of package received or positive ebay feedback. I ALWAYS wait now until I'm sure it's as described. I got burned by this ahole named kushsmoker for my tein ss's. Sends me blown ones missing the adjustment valves and for an accord and not TL. He claimed they were almost new and perfect. Someone on here recognized them and gave me the real scoop on them so I put in a claim and got most of my money back. Still lost the shipping to and from. I haunted that guy when he tried to relist them later. I HATED him and that feeling of getting played. Sorry you went thru that Richard Parker.

I'm not into the wires either, but someone's gotta keep it OG. lol...looks different and different is sometimes good! lol. Can't wait to see the car lowered back down. I am like you...sometimes the path of least resistance is just to fix it yourself.

Take care,
J.

I know this is maybe a longshot...but have you thought about maybe adding a tube of "stan's tubeless tire" liquid to each. Maybe a bottle to each wheel. Not sure if it's safe for car tires but that stuff does wonders for punctures and leaks for my tubeless mountain bike tires.

Good luck.

ps...i'm not being a smartass. I watched a youtube video of the stuff...where a dude rode over a 2 by 4 with like 20 nails sticking up. He rode over it with Stan's in the tire like 20 times and it still held air.

I don't think it would eat up the silicone because the tire compound for a mountain bike would probably be similar to a regular tire. youtube stans tubeless tire to read up on the product. I wonder if it would work?! Especially if it's in addition to what you're using now.

And def. no recourse via paypal, right? I remember when I called to handle my situation, they were pretty helpful. Ebay directly was useless...but paypal was decent.

Good luck man...I hope you figure it out. Try a bottle of the stan's, I think it's $12...try it in one...put it on and for 15 min. shake the tire and keep turning it while the stuff sets. I mean, an air hole is an air hole, right...and it's meant to deal with Mountain bike tires at 40 to 50 psi so it might be safe for 35psi car tires. Keep me posted and I hope it works out for you.

Good Job

I want to thank all of you for acting maturely and lightening up on the OP.

It takes all kinds to make a car forum. We come from different areas of the country, different cultures, different experiences, and different tastes.

One thing we have in common is love for our cars. It's good to see each of you respecting those differences and reaching out to help someone with a problem.

When someone asks for help, that is not the time to bust their balls.

I'm tempted to give the good guys immunity for the next challenge. Wait! This isn't Survivor! It's AZ.

Lol...^^^very well put and I completely agree. It's no different than a high school setting in here sometimes in that people all gang up on anyone that isn't the norm or the most socially acceptable....except most of us are in our 20's and above.

I often have moments where I wish I could go back in time and kick my own ass for being a judgemental ahole and making fun of people just so nobody would notice my own insecurities. And this isn't a "dig" on anyone on here...it's my own truth.

Not only that, some people are affriad to show some of the mods they do because they will be rediculed for them(which makes us all lo9se out ).I like when Rick shows the stuff that he does because I like some of the stuff he does and some of the other stuff that I dont like gives me Ideas for my car

Its kinda crappy for other people because when I did my angel eyes people were very mean and said they hated them but I got over 30 IM asking how I did them !! so when people are rude or whatever we all lose out !!

BTW whats the status on the wheels

^ Its all about freedom of speech. Its a public forum. We may not all agree on the same things but we try to help out when needed. I think that diversity is a good thing.

BTW, RP, I may not agree with your choice of wheels, but I do think its rediculous that that guy sold you defective parts.

I've deceided to totally reseal the wheels my self.
I've been removing the seals.
Hopefully by tonight I can have 2 of them totally preped for reseal.
Then they need to set for 2-3 days.
I will put up some pics of the process.
I hope these things work after that or I'll take them out back and shoot them.

Sometimes, the hardest path is the right one. It sounds like this will be the surefire solution. A lot of effort, but if you never have worry about leaking again, it'll be great. Good luck RP!

One wheel just about preped.
Cleaned bead
sanded down the seal over the outer spokes and reskimed to keep that part of the wheel round.(like it wasn't).
Remove black strip from rear spokes.
When I redo.I'm not going to pile up the black strip in the corner like the other guy did.
I'm going to make the band wide and str8 across the center gap.Thats how the rwd guy do it.
Besides the valve stem goes threw that angle and it looked like it could've been a issue with air too.
Before and after so far.
It basically just needs to be cleaned and I will be laying the seals to night.
