04+ TL Rear Sway w/ Greaseable Bushings
Parts:
Comptech 22mm Rear Sway (04+ TL)
Energy Suspension 22mm Greaseable Bushing Set (9-.5158)
I got the bushings in black, you can get them in red. I picked them up at pepboys for $19.99+tax. Anyone who has seen the bushings that come with the CT will see that these energy ones are HUGE compared to them. I rode with the CT ones for a day, then switched them with the Energy ones. Felt little to no difference in ride quality, but notice the rear became firmer in turns.

You just replaced the rear? I know you said you plan to swap out the front sway also. Let me know how it feels, and how handling has changed/improved. I should be ordering the 04 ct sway soon.

rides a little stiffer on bumps, the bushings are huge, there is NO give to the bar now. corners a lot better, but the front still leans in. i plan to get the neuspeed front since its solid.
yea, you just use a grease gun. extremely easy to regrease. you just pop the little black plastic cap off, and pop the gun on, shoot in some lithium grease. look like this:

the left side bracket went on with no problems at all. i just left the bolts loose.
the right bracket was another story. i just took a medium size round file, and extended the inner bracket hole a little bit. then i filed down 1 side of both washers, so they looked like the letter D. all in all, it was very easy.

one of the guys on the TL boards did a great how-to...
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...3&page=3&pp=25
except, i only had to do the filing on 1 of the brackets. and i didn't need to use a vice or a hammer. i just used my own strength to get the bolts started. i was able to use a socket on all 4 bolts, didnt need to use a crescent wrench.
well, the ride is a little stiffer with the newer bushings, but for me, in a good way. it is only a little bit more noticeable than before. it def didn't make the ride uncomfortable. i actually noticed on smaller bumps, the car didnt bounce as much, it goes right over the bumps. and on a BIG DIPS i could feel the car hug the road a little more. i'm still not finished with my suspension, i plan on upgrading a few more things. i think if you went with the bushings comptech gave you, you probly wouldn't notice a difference in comfort at all.
not sure if that helps, lol.

It all helps. Just trying to decide where I want my car to be in a performance level standpoint. Stiff enough to enjoy, but mild enough that mom won't choose to walk if I ever want to take her somewhere in my car.

Ride comfort is fine. My old car was so stiff my GF refused to ride in it. She hasn't refused in this car yet, so I think I'm good. lol
The bushing are universal 22MM. I believe the CL Comptech Bar is 22MM as well.
The 04+ TL Bar... I believe is the same. I just went this route because it is cheaper. I think the rear bar is the most important to replace on this car. No need to buy the whole set at once. You can pick up the front neuspeed which is the thickest front available i believe.

Ok good. I already have both front and rear Comptechs. I was just wondering if the 04TL was any better in any way. But I will definitely look into getting those bushings and hell...at 20 bucks that ain't jack for convenience! No need for tape, lube, relube, worry, etc. Just grease and go!

cleancl,
i picked up a progress rsb, it's 24mm so i'm planning to get the energy greaseable bushings.
what is the part # for the front bushings though? i'm pretty sure you did those as well. 27mm shows PN 9.5162 or 9.5169 (http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/swaybbct.html)
thanks
