01 CL-S rims being painted
I've got a little weekend project coming up. I am going to paint my stock CL-S rims Duplicolor graphite. Has anybody else done this? I searched but found nothing.
3 of my stock rims have curb rash bad (from previous owner old lady) and I figured it would be a good chance to make them look new.
I am sanding them completely down with 300 grit sandpaper. I've got spot bondo to fill in the existing curbrash and then sanding them baby butt smooth w/ 600 grit sandpaper. Primering them, painting and clearcoating. Yes I am also doing the insides of the rims. It is probably going to take me 2 days to sand & paint and possible one whole day to completely dry. I have done this twice before with my buddies enkei rims but I was wondering if anybody has ever done this with their CL-S rims. Comments/tips welcome.

Well I'm using Duplicolor wheel paint not just reg. spray paint so hopefully mine look better. Should be a nice custom look. I've only seen 03 rims painted gunmetal and they looked very good. I am looking forward to see how the 01's look darker.

OP, As far as painting them, I know what color you are talking about as I painted my first gen 3.0 rims... Do it and show us. I'm a little not sure about it.

Well started working on them tonight. I have them wet sanded, spot bondo, sanded smooth and now the primer is drying. I'm getting up tomorrow and painting them. They look excellent right now...no more curb rash...smooth and brand new looking (in primer at least..ha). 3/4 of it is done...now just a bunch of light paint coats and light clear coats. I will post pics when they're done.
Thanks for the support everyone.
