Wobbling @ 40 mph

is there a reason why my car wobbles during acceleration @ about 40mph, at that speed if i let off the throttle, the wobbling stops, it only does it at that speed and during acceleration. i do notice a slight wobble, very slight when accelerating at other speeds, but mostly at 40mph.

tranny?
alignment? which i will do this week(hopefully that takes car of it)

anyone experience this.. thanks

I had the same problem between 50-65. it ended up being a bent axle. look up a company out of the NC area that sells axles. A new passenger side axle and no shaking since.

Axles, wheel bearings, wheel weight fell off, alignment, warped rotors if it was during decel. Just a few things off the top of my head...

hmmm, maybe the motor mounts would be the best bet, it happens only during acceleration, when off the gas, it goes away(motor @ idle)

ok, i found that my passenger front strut is leaking oil(blown) will that cause it to wobble, maybe not counteracting or whatever, holding the torque/hp when accelerating?

most common fix to a Wobbling/Vibration in the steeringwheel/seat/dashboard is the wheel balance, out-of-balance wheels will cause a car to vibrate at certain speeds, usually between 40 and 70 mph. A tire is out of balance when one section of the tire is heavier than the others. One ounce of imbalance on a front tire is enough to cause a noticeable vibration in the steering wheel at about 60 mph. im a technician at just tires and many people are pleasantly surprised at how smooth their car drives after balancing all four wheels. have your wheels and tires balance check out at your local tires place.
