who has changed thier own tranny?
After pricing pretty much everywhere, its pretty safe to say that I'm going to get the stiff one on the tranny. So... How hard would it be to do yourself? I've only really worked on RWD cars before, haven't really done much on fwd. If I can do it over the weekend, I can save myself a grand. I can't imagine it can be that hard. Other than special tools, what else is there? If you have sucessfully accomplished this, please let know.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Dropping it in your garage with hand tools will be kind of a pain in the balls....to be honest.
I have V6 Accords/CL/etc AT's down to 40 minutes out, then another hour back in, after swapping parts, etc. I know it doesn't help you out much, but it's good to have a lot of floor space and preferably a lift.

Where are you getting the transmission from? Did you see my thread on the source for Honda remanufactured transmissions?
Fsttyms1 on this forum has dropped his tranny before in his own garage. He might be able to give you some tips.

Autocraft Industries is also an authorized supplier for Honda's remanufactured transmission program.
You can get their units from a distributor on eBay for $2095 with two-way shipping for a 5-speed or $1895 for a 4-speed. Both of them have a 3/36 warranty.
