Weird noise in 1st & 2nd MT

Have a weird "grating" noise when I down shift into 2nd gear, can hear it in 1st also but not as bad. Sounds like something rubbing on drive shaft but shafts look OK. As it happens only in 1st and 2nd I'm worried its a 6spd MT issue? Have searched but didn't really see anything like this on here. Only thing I saw with a close symptom was maybe a motor mount issue. Really sounds like a thrust bearing or such like going out in the trans. Anyone got any advice? Thanks.

OK so I'm wondering if it's the trans or is it possible that it's a motor mount issue? I've heard of people having motor mount problems on these cars?

Have you changed the fluid in the tranny? The reformulated Honda stuff made a difference in the way mine shifted.

+1 on fluid change on the tranny. Also take a look at your axles. Is it just during the shift, or when your in gear?
