Violent Shudder Between 40MPH and 55MPH
I've searched on this topic on a few boards and so far the consensus that I've come to is that I may have a problem with the axles. However, I took it to a mechanic today to have the axles checked out b/c I'm at school and have no tools or jack, he said the the tires weren't balanced properly but he couldn't find anything wrong with the axles. We rebalanced the tires and that fixed the shuddering at low speeds. However, when I reach about 40MPH on the speedo it starts shuddering.
In 2nd gear it's not very noticable but last all the way til I switch gears or about 55MPH. In 3rd gear it's more noticable but doesn't start til 45MPH and only last to about 53MPH or so. In 4th gear its almost violent but last for maybe 3 seconds at best.
I'm going on a short test drive tomorrow with the mechanic but do you guys have any other ideas of what it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

On my car the car never shakes or shudders in park or in drive at any sppeds except for 60mph with my foot on gas just keeping that steady speed ... When acelerating nuttin when decelerating nuttin!!
I FOund this for the 3G TL's but it seems to be the EXACT problem!!!

The part # they listed I cant find... I think when they might have been screwing together everything after installing my rebuilt tranny they might have no tigtened something or forgot to put a screw or damper back!
I started happing right after my tranny was rebuilt but am 95% sure its not the tranny!

Forgot to mention it's a 6-Speed...I took it in again today, they rebalanced all the tires and checked the axles (the tires were off by a good bit) and that nearly eliminated the problem. Now it's not a violent shacking but more of a studder so I'm thinking it's possibly a bad ignition coil that was just amplified by the unbalanced tires. Any other thoughts?

All the tires are brand new, as in less than a week old and all four were balanced yesterday to 00.00. They checked the axles and said they were fine. I'm trying to get the alignment checked this Friday and hope that's what's causing it.
You have any other ideas if that isn't it??
Thanks for yoru help.
