Vibration when breaking

a few months ago i changed my brakes and rotars because of this problem.

but recently it came up again. Does anyone know what the problem is? Could there be a defect in my rotars or what?

Where are you feeling the vibration?

My steering wheel vibrates - left to right - when braking... however I am not feeling anything abnormal in the brake pedal.

The car drives straight and true, and the alignment seems okay. The only time I have an issue, is when I am braking - the steering wheel goes left to right... its messed up.

Is this the issue you are having? Is it worse when slowing down from 60MPH, and less an issue when slowing down from 20MPH???

Ok, I'm having the same problem. I haven't changed my brake rotors or anything yet, but this just started about one or two months ago. My steering wheel vibrates when I brake, but I do not feel anything in the brake pedal. It is worse slowing down at higher speeds (ie 70 mph) vs lower speeds. Actually, I really don't notice a problem at lower speeds.

The rotors on our cars suck. I'm guessing that you warped them again. I warped 3 sets of stock rotors before I got Rotora slotted rotors. I used my Rotoras for about 12K to 15K miles and never had a problem.

It's quite possible. The stock rotors are crap. They warp really easily. It could be a defective rotor. You will have to get them checked. I once had one that cracked. Do a search on the stock brakes. You are not alone. And again, before you drop a lot of money on new stock rotors, I would say spend a bit more and get Rotora's. You won't be disappointed.

If your rotors have been machined once...and if its time to get them done again...go BBK or OEM sized slotted/cross drilled so they'll last longer. Yup the OEM rotors suck eggs

There are some easy things to do to prevent warped rotors

1) Make sure the lug nuts on your wheels are torqued to 80lbs
2) Do not wash your car, especially the wheels immediately after a spirited drive - cold water on hot rotors =

Have the same problems and I am positive it's not the rotors... I have a slightly bent wheel and the dealership "flipped?" the tire to balance it... Think that can be causing the vibration I feel on the wheel? Before they did the balance it was much less of a vibration and no steering shudder.

UNFORTUNATELY VIBRATIONS WHILE BRAKING ARE 99% RELATED TO WARPED DISCS, NO OTHER COMPONENT CAN COUSE IT, IN SOME RARE CASES WORN BALL JOINT MAY ACT VERY SIMILAR. GOT SPORTY CAR GET YOURSELF VENTED QUALITY DISCS : BREMBOS ROTORAS OR STH, THEY RUN 200F COOLER THEN STOCK ONES. REMACHINING WILL SOLVE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY AS MATRIAL IS THINNER AND MORE LIKELY TO WARP.

A) they are rotors, not rotars,

B) I had the same problem, they machined mine, but next time this happens, it's up to brembos for me.

It's not just the rotors. Are you using aftermarket wheels? If so, then you definetly need a set of hubcentric rings which you can get online. This should definetly solve your problem!!!
