Turn signals light up but will not flash

Hi guys. Just bought a 2001 3.2 CL Type S a couple weeks ago - encountering my first, [of hopefully few], problems. When I use the turn signal, it will light up on the dash but will not blink. This occurs for both sides - turns green but stays green instead of blinking on and off. The actual signals next to the headlights will turn bright, but they too will also not blink.

Is there something perhaps wrong with the flasher relay? How would I go about fixing it?

Thanks!

Has it done this the whole time you had it? Could be just the bulbs are blown. Bulbs are cheap I'd get an entire set & replace them all 1st. www.PIAA.com will have an application guide for the sizes.

I've had the car for about 2.5 weeks now and this morning was the first time I noticed it. The lights aren't burned out - both right and left blinkers light up; they just don't blink (on/off). Right now I'm having to use the blinker manually.. by pushing the turn signal lever to the right and then back to the neutral position.. then back to the right to actually make it blink the right signal - vice versa for the left.

Otherwise, the signal just lights up bright yellow and stays yellow. From time to time it will function normally but its very finnicky - for example, if I go over a bump, it will let the signal blink; but if I turn the steering wheel a certain way the light will lock up again and stop blinking.

Sounds like the flasher is bad. Does it do the same thing when you hit the 4-way?

Yeah ok sounds like the flasher. It's very easy to replace. It's on the back of the drivers side fuse panel. It's a black square looking thing that simply plugs into a socket. Shouldn't be more then a few dollars to pickup 1. You can even get different ones that flash 2X's 3 times 6 times the normal speed. It may even be loose & causing the problem.

Yep, it does it when I put the hazards on as well. Excellent.. so it seems like an easy fix. I'll check it out - thanks a LOT for the help!
