Took front seats out now SRS light is constantly on.

I decided to take out my seats to clean underneath them. I have dropped or spilled a lot of stuff down there and it seemed easier to just take them out. Well after I put them back in and connected all the wires again I get a big red SRS light on the dash just above the fuel gauge. It is solid red and won't go away. I checked all the connections to make sure they were secure and they are. Do I just need to reset the indicator light. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the srs system. Thanks.

Did you turn the ignition on while the seats were out? That usually trips it. You need to reset it.

I think you have to disconnect the battery to prevent the SRS light from coming on. See the instructions above for resetting it.

It just needs to be reset. I have done it several times. Its pretty easy. You make a jumper from the blank two pin plug that plugs into a blank socket under the driver kickpanel on the left side. Then turn ingition on (dont start motor) and do a series of connect circuit, disconnect circuit while toggling the ignition.

ALWAYS disconnect the battery when working around airbags or any other electrical systems, ALWAYS. If u get into an acciden with the srs light on. U won't have any airbags and I dought that the insurance company will cover any health bills bc u tampered with a safety device. U need to reset it like in the above link

My SRS light came on recently and when they pulled the code on it, it pointed to a bad switch in the seat belt buckle so it was covered under warranty.

Just something to keep in mind if clearing the code doesn't resolve your issue.
