Still smells Hot
Still smells Hot
So I am the proud owner of a 2001 cl Type-S.
I had a bit of trouble with it overheating ,but after replacing the water pump, thermostat the coolant and all the relays it seems to be doing ok. EXCEPT that it still smells hot. The coolant is good, doesn't appear to be leaking. The temperature gauge stays under the halfway mark. The fans come on. For all intents and purposes it's working, but it STILL has that car is close to overheating smell. ( Oh, probably worth mentioning that it does get up to running temperature alot faster than it used to)

Hey Jason, have you tried cleaning the engine? At the age our cars are at, a lot of the seals have become hardened and leak oil/ fluids. these fluids come into contact with parts of the engine that get really hot and create that smell you are describing.
My RDX has that burned smell after I drive it too. I know an oil leak last year made it worse, but it still has that smell. I guess it's dirt and fluids mixed that are burning. Probably needs a cleaning or may have a small fluid leak.
