Slower runs after header install

I installed DC headers in my sons 03 TLP and noted that it pulled much harder after 5 grand but it's 30 to 80 times went from 8.0 to 8.8. It had half a tank of 88 octane rather than 93 which is what I ran the last time I tested it with less than a quarter of a tank. I did not disconnect the battery to let the computer re learn the settings but I was surprised that it ran slower.

Any observations....

Always run 91 or better octane.

The ECU also needs time to relearn, but that 88 octane fuel is not helping one bit. Its probably pulling timing due to the lower octane.

Check for leaks and make sure to run premium above 91 octane. Where do you live that you get 88octane. I thought that we only had 87, 89 and 93 in the USA. And some parts of the northeast have 95octane.
