Radio and nav question

I have a 2001 cl with the navigation system. I was looking to replace the radio with an aftermarket one but i’ve read that doing so messed with the navigation system and makes it not work. Is this true? Does it just affect the navigation or the manual AC controls too? Any help would be appreciated.

You only lose the navigation voice. The stock radio features a mute function that allows the navigation to reduce the volume of music when voice guidance is being provided so you can hear that navigation's voice command.

Ah ok that makes sense. As long as the manual ac controls still work.
