Pull OBD2 codes without scanner?

I have an 01 Acura CL Type-S

Every car I have owned in the past had a method that allowed you to pull codes without an actual scanner.

My Mr2 would require that the key be in the ON position, turn the AC to off, press the brakes, etc and then the CEL would flash. I would then be able to associate the number of flashes with an actual code.

My Nissan SE-R specV and my Integra (I believe) had the same functionality.

I have been looking everywhere and I have not seen a post on this for the CL.

Is this not possible on this car?

Errr. I found it. Sorry for not searching long enough. My poor mom is stranded at a gas station in that crappy car. I shouldn't have given it to her. Transmission went out a few months back and now it is misfiring. I hope it isn't too serious.
