Power seat problem help!!

Hi. I am Kind of new to the site im hoping you guys are helpfull unlike other websites when they would just crack on me for questions. I have a 03 cl type s. the recliner would not work so i took apart the seat (disconnected all the wiring) I got the recliner free by spraying wd40 and prying it with a screw driver. I put the seat back together and now nothing at all works. im pretty sure i put all the wires back were they belong. i checked and checked again. now i have a srs light and nothing power at all works on the seat??? any suggestions?

As far as the SRS light goes, it sounds like you unplugged the airbag. Check all the connections again.

For future reference, you dont need to disconnect the wiring to free the gears.

The recliner seat would occasionally get stuck in a reclined position and wouldn't return to upright/normal until I just pressed forward with the left hand and used the right hand to help 'pull' it back into place. Usually only happened if someone was doing something to the car.

Smile Seats

My passenger seat can move forward and back however not recline whats so ever. I hear something rattle everytime I press it in both directions. However I couldn't figure out if it was the gears.

Anywho, hope anyone can help me.b

My 2001 CL S type driver seat is also stuck and won't recline. Sure would like to see a step-by-step way to fix this issue...Seems like there are a lot of the same problems with this car!

Yeah I have 2 CL's right now, 3 of the 4 seats in them won't recline. Motors work fine. Took one seat side cover off and tried to move gear with a large screwdriver, even hit it with a hammer, still won't move? Was scared I'd break something if I used more force, does it take a lot of force to free recline gear? Please tell us the technique cividrivr? You'll be helping a lot of your fellow mankind LOL. Thanks!

TJ_Tom, side cover is easy, there are two screws hidden under little round covers on the side cover, pop them off with a small screwdriver, and then unscrew the phillips that lurks underneath!

Power Seat Won't Recline

Took seat side panel off and lubricated gears...The seat intermittently reclines but very slowly. Perhaps the motor is weak as it was hot to the touch!

Problem is intermittent now!
