Perforated leather starting to tear on '01 CL-S
So, my perforated leather is finally starting to show signs of wearing out (after 10 years!) on the driver's seat of my '01.
I searched, but didn't really find any information on this. I have a friend that does leather repair for me (he's a lot guy for several dealerships), but I don't think he will be able to fix the perforated part as easily as he would the solid leather part.
Is there a place that sells the bottom leather?

Good thought....though I am a little concerned that the older seats may have the same issues that mine does.
It's funny -- I'm really good about keeping the conditioner on the seats, but I guess it was just a matter of time before it tore. It doesn't look too bad, so I may let it ride. I found some leather places selling the leather for the whole interior for like $900 -- uh, no thanks!
Then I found this on the Miami Craigslist:

Of course, I'm about 1100 miles from Miami, but I'll start looking around here. That's cheap for an CL-S seat, unless it's trashed.

I would, but his is black, and my seats are tan. I just realized that when I re-read his ad!
I'm going to see the guy that does my leather repair this week and see what he says. He does a lot of work for the Honda/Acura dealers, so maybe he can track down a seat. I like the perforated leather (I've got the same stuff on my GS430), but when it goes bad, look out....

Yeu -- does Acura still sell the seat covers? And by seat covers, I'm assuming you are talking about the actual leather that covers the seat, and not a "seat cover" like sheepskin, etc., right?

Whats up with RDX owners?
iTrader: (9)
They are pricey though - $290 for just the bottom cover.
Maybe Katzkin can help you out?
