Passenger Side Seat
I've got a 2001 type S and my passenger side seat will no longer move forward or backward. The seat will still recline. Driver side is fine. This happened at the same time that BOTH my side rear view mirrors stopped working. I can no longer adjust the drive and passenger rear view mirrors. This is very annoying; does anyone have any ideas?
I think this happened when I packed my car to the gill and the passenger side tryed to move backward and got stuck on something. I thought that a fuse may have tripped, but I dont understand why it will still recline, and the fact that the rearview mirrors are stuck now is very odd.
Thanks!

Damn! Same thing happened to me this evening! I too packed my car and moved the passenger seat back until it stopped on the case of drinks I had behind it. While driving, I also noticed that the rear view mirrors won't work either. I've checked the fuses but they're fine. The passenger seat reclines but is stuck in the forward most position.
Any ideas anyone? Help! I can't really drive a two-door, one-person car and don't want to pay the dealer $1,200.

Double check your fuses, #5 & #11 on the pass side control the seat slide. Recline is on a separate circuit.
If there is nothing blown there check for a fuse in the underhood box that feeds the passenger side box.

Fuses ok. Next?
I've double checked the fuses both inside the car and under the hood. All are ok. When I press the switch to move the seat forward or backward, I hear the relay click each time but the seat doesn't move.
Suggestions?

Oops! But...???
I've not pulled the seat out but have wiggled the wires under the seat then put another fuse in and it blew immediately as well.
What's my next step anyone? Yank out the seat? Should I uncover the seat while it's still in the forward-most position? Help?

yea if it blows the fuse instantly it's shorting out something. U said it happened when u moved the seat, so there is your problem. Either a severed wire (which is now grounding out), a bad connection, or an internal ground on a the seat motor.
my guess is the connection under the seat or the seat motor.
But lets hope not

I've not found the problem yet but I'm going to have to get into it this weekend. Until now, I had just parked the car in the garage figuring that I'd get to it when I felt like it but the other day my truck died (something else is shorting out) so, I'm back to driving the car again. I'll report on what I find.
