Opinion on rear view mirror

I just got a replacement for my mirror and was thinking of cutting the wire and just mounting the mirror so that it won't leak again. What do you guys think?

I think using it doesn't really make a difference on the chance of it leaking again. I say just use it and when it break buy a new mirror. Just replace it before it leaks out of the mirror and on to your interior. It happened to me and I took mine off instantly and drove the car a week without a mirror.

Just my opinion.

Hopefully others will chime in on this issue.

Good luck.

So I'm confused, what causes the leak, I thought it was a short in the power wire or it grounding out or something?

I thought it was the heat caused by the weather. I'm not 100% sure though. I just thought I read that somewhere.
