New member, whole host of probs
Hey everyone, I'm new. Quick intro-bought my CL 13 months ago. I love the car, but I have a hand full of things that are bothering me. Maybe some of you can help.
Minor Inconveniences:
1. Water in the headlight. I got some recalled part replaced last year, and when the Acura dealer in town did it, they washed my car, and got water in the headlight. I tried getting an air compressor, but that did nothing.
2. Warped clasp on armrest. The small compartment between the front seats does not lock in position well, and keeps popping open.
3. Clock illumination out. Probably just a fuse, I'll check that tomorrow, but I can't see my clock at night.
Major Inconveniences:
1. Shakey Brakes. When I decelerate, especially from higher speeds such as on interstates, but lower speeds as well to a lesser degree, the whole car shakes pretty violently. I've had the rotors replaced (I believe the front ones only), and resurfaced, which helped for a little while, but it has begun doing it again.
2. CD players messed up. The ER-E1 message appears all the time with my CD player, especially when I try to eject a CD from slot 3.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

well i have the same "major problems" for the brakes i have not fixed yet but i have read many times over that the cl breaks and rotor are complete shit so your rotors are probably pretty warped you need to just fork over the 400 dollars and replace the rotors and pads on all four wheel that should help alot. then the cd problem mine does the exact same thing the best thing i can tell you to do is not use that slot buy a blank cd an put it there then never remove it untill you want to repalace the stereo but do not press the slot with the blank cd because you could get stuck in the error mode. when mine does it i usually switch it to radio than try it again while pressing another cd number and that usually works as for the water in headlight i would have suggested the compressor i have no idea what to do for your number 2 and for the clock light i have navi so cant tell you much about the clock light except if its not the fuse it is going to be a bitch to fix that.
I suggest to check out the FAQ on our cars. It should answer many of your questions.
Top of my head...
Warped brakes = normal, replace your brakes
Water in headlight = normal, replace headlight, or reseal headlight with adhesive
Console lid= normal, replace the console lid
No light on clock=normal, replace bulb behind the dash. PITA to fix actually
CD player=normal, replace it, or try to jam something in it to release the CD's
Everything you have a problem with has been covered, You can search on each 1 & get your answers.
Also each 1 of these problems has been a service item from Acura. Very common on 01-02 CL's. If you have any warranty everything should be fixed under warranty except for the brakes.

Old post, but in case someone uses search function.. I had the ER1 msg on my CD player... I spoke to the dealership and it is a VERY expensive fix... nah... not really.. just og buy a CD cleaner... run that through and viola... mine works like a charm, and the cd cleaner was cheap... otherwise, fuzzy's posting hit all the main things...
