Navigation Screen Fix

Whats up everyone, im new on this forum, I used to have a s14 240sx and was pretty active on the 240 forums, I noticed these forums are not that active...Anyway i got a 2001 Cl type s and noticed my navigation screen got worse over time, I just too it apart and it is really simple to just take the screen off and clean it. There's a plastic screen that you touch, then there's the screen behind it after you take it apart, just 4 screws. I carefully took off the crackings and cleaned it up, and tested it without the plastic touch screen and it works, ill be making a new plastic touch piece because mine was pretty scratched up, ill post pics later on this week when i get to it but just wanted to let you guys know its fixable. I saw some people had the same problem, and you don't need to go to the dealer to get the navi screen replaced.

Welcome! The 2G side has died down a lot but we are still active on here. Acurazine as a whole is still very active as well, just check out ramblings and car talk! Nice, informative first post!

very nice! I had a TL that looked like someone used a scotch brite pad to clean the nav screen. I just wet sanded with 1000, 1500, 2000, then a 3000 grit pad, then hit it with buffing compound, then polishing compound. it came out alright... it was still a little foggy when I was done. If i spent more time on it with the finer grits it probably would have come out better, but it was way better than when I started. If you cant get a new piece made consider polishing yours up!
