Can you guys elaborate on what an AEM short ram intake is? How is it different from a cold air intake, and will I see any real performance benefit from one? I live in Minnesota where we get snow and rain, so I can't have a cold air intake. Are short rams easy to install at home, and how much do they cost?

a CAI goes down and behind the bumper, short ram stays up in the engine bay so you are more likely to pull in hot air. you will get better gains from the CAI but if you can get your hands on a comptech icebox i would move on it.

I went with the Cold Intake instead of the short ram. Injen RD series cold intake. I live in Connecticut and I have rain and snow here too but i ordered a hydro shield to protect my filter even more from absorbing moisture.

aem also has a bypass valve that will reduce the chance of taking on water if you choose the cai route
