Installing Main fuel relay

Hi I am a newbie who needs to install a main fuel relay. I'm going to get the part tommorrow and know where the the part is located in the car , but just cluess from there. I would really appreciated if anyone can give me instructions or pointers on installing it...Thanks

The relay is located under your dash up by the steering column (the side closer to the driver door). There's a bracket that holds it up there. It's alot easier to remove the bracket itself rather than trying to remove the relay from the bracket. Just unplug the old relay and plug the new one in. Props to you if you can manage to get the bracket bolted back into place... if not, zip-ties are your friends.

Another option is to open up your relay and lookat the soldier points on the circuit board under a magnifying glass. You'll find some hairline cracks in some of them. Re-soldier them and plug it back in. It could save you $60 for a new relay.

Hey man thanks for all the help ...got a new one plugged in and works like a charm....btw ...couldn't get the old plastic cover off the metal bracket...any ideas...once again thanks...

If you got the new relay, it just hammer it.

Or if you want to fix it, the gray plastic box will be open by a small flat head driver.

Yea, its a pain to get it off the bracket, just gotta work it out with a flathead screwdriver. Imagine trying to get it off upside down under your dash...

The bracket itself isn't very expensive. I think I paid $2-3 at the dealer.
