How do you adjust new wiper linkage?
I have a 2001 CL-S. The wiper linkage was extremely sloppy which was causing both wiper arms to bang the cowling. I purchased a new wiper transmission assembly for $129.00. After installing the new assembly, both wipers come to a rest too high on the windshield. I have tried adjusting the wiper arms to no avail (too high or too low). I think the problem is where the metal arm connected to the motor comes to a rest. I have a factory shop manual, but it does not give any details on the installation or adjustment of a new wiper transmission. When replacing a wiper motor, the manual suggests one scribe a line on the wiper transmission housing before removing the motor. That's great for installing a new motor, but no good if you are installing your old motor to a new wiper trans.
In what position should the arm connected to the motor be at rest? How high should the wiper arms be?

Fixed
Sorry you guys were no help, but I figured it out.
Removed wiper arms
Removed plastic cowling
Removed old wiper transmission
Disconnected wiper motor electric connector
Removed wiper motor link from wiper motor
Removed wiper motor from transmission
Installed wiper motor onto new trans
Connected wiper motor electric connector
Installed trans
Connected wiper motor link to trans wiper link
Turned wiper motor on high speed / then off - two times
Installed wiper motor link to the left and parallel to cowling
Installed cowling
Installed wiper arms in rest position - approximately 1 inch above plastic cowling.
That's it. All works great and no banging. I hope this helps another CL owner.
