Help! Bose stereo goes out (2003 CL-S 6speed)
I had ipod connected. Then, this input stopped working. Then, stereo began turning itself off every minute. Then, CD changer stopped working. Then, even radio doesn't work. There was a slight smell of smoke when it started happening.
Any fuses I should check?
If stereo itself is broken, if I buy a unit off ebay (and the seller says hw doesn't have the radio code), will I be able to persuade my dealership to install it?
Any ideas? I just cannot drive without music...

I installed it myself... But I did decent wiring... Seems the adaptor just burned and took the stereo with it. Or maybe not... It's a pain in the A to disassemble the console, but I guess I will have to do it.
Any documentation about the fuses? The dealer who sold me the car lost the manual...

It's not a fuse. If it was the radio would of turned off all together, not cut on and off and on and off like you said it did. There wouldn't of been a smell of smoke either. Something else was going on and maybe it took the fuse awhile to blow, but a blown fuse wasn't the initial problem.

Funnily enough, removing and reinstalling the fuse fixed the problem. And it wasn't even burned. Guess the ipod adapter got the stereo into some funny state. Haven't tried the ipod yet, though.
Hooray!!!
Hooray!!!
