Headlight Flickering

I just picked up a 01 CL-S, had it for 2 weeks and the driver side headlight started flickering on me and then it shuts off, what could be the cause of this.....I’ve checked the fuse, bulb there's nothing else I can think of except the inverter (ballast) I hope its not the inverter (its $$$$$!!!!), any other things I should check out......any input would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your ballast is going bad. This happened to me also. You can probably get an aftermarket replacement kit for $250 (kaixen).

is there any diffrence between kaixen and the OEM ballast (besides the price), and is it there warranty on their product (kaixen)? I know acura dealerships offer 1 year.

just browse the black market or ebay for a used OEM ballast before you go ordering anything at the dealership.

my experience with kaixen has not been well, but others dont have problems so do what you gotta do!

i've read that this happens to a lot of people and i've been dealing with it for a month now. I'm getting a adapter for a Xenon ballast, and hopefully it will fix the problem.

the truth about almost all aftermarket HID kits are made by the same companies overseas. they're just rebranded. as long as the ballast stay dry it should be good, i mean they do make it waterproof, but if u keep it out of the water its not a problem. its the biggest factor of failing ballasts. now a lot of kits have 1 year warranty, others have 2 years, i remember reading that one company offers life time.
