Fuel Pump Cycling with Car tuned off?
Ok so I just picked up a 01 CL-S and although I do a lot of wrenching on my Audi and Passat Japaneese cars are new to me.
I noticed that the car didn't hold a charge very well and after I put it in the garage I could hear what sounds like the fuel pump running for about 30 seconds. Then it shuts off for maybe 15 minutes or so, then again on for about 30 seconds.
I disconnected the battery so it doesn't drain it. Anybody have an idea what this could be?
Any help is much appreciated!

My car does the same thing. But mine isnt the fuel pump.
I had it up on a lift. Its not from the gas tank. Its almost like a vacuum pressure is being let out. Still havent tracked it down yet.

Mine continuously does it. You can go out to the car after its been sitting overnight and it will still do it.
I was thinking EVAP as well, since it would make sense, but for some reason it sounded like it was coming from the front of the car. It stumped Paul too when he heard it.

well disconnected the battery and it still does it, so nothing do with electrical system.
Really odd, never had anything like this with my other iron. But if it's normal then I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
Thanks!

Thats why Im pretty sure its vacuum related.

It might sound from the front since there is a purge valve right under hood. It is electrically trigered but in the summer fuel evaporative pressure may get significantly high ... and it eventually has to go somewhere
