1 i like to do it about every 15000 miles so once a year, i use only honda trans fluid, its actually a special fluid meant for honda cars.
2. power steering, coolant, brake fluid, freon in ac because it will absorb water

but if u didnt let me tell u./...
did u know that chaginmg transmission fluids without an actual change in internal parts or chngin the fluid in an NOT new transsmission lets the internal parts break down more quickly. i have chnged two transsmssn to this subject all becos i thought i was tryin to stay a step ahead but instead fried my own transsmsn.
i was told by an transs expert that the detergent in the fluid cleans up the dirt and the chip metal gung which later finds way to the internal parts of the transsmissn clogs it or reduces flow of fluid in the lines/pipes = heat build + more wear = blown transsmission
DO NOT CHNG YOUR TRANSSMISSION FLUID IF U ARE NOT CHNG UR TRANSSMISSION OR ELSE U WILL BE CHANGING UR TRANSMISSION.

i heard the same thing a while back with a previous car that changin the tranny fluid could be more damaging to the tranny. but i heard that was because the car was so old that the tranny getsa used to that old fluid. but being that my CL is newer i thought it would be fine. so what fluids should i change and not have to worry about damagin something.

think about it, hydro carbon breakdown relaese and re attachment/adhesion of the molecules in the fluid to continue doing its functn (cooling, reduce friction,) and breakdown again. its the same either old or new the only advantage u might get in a slightly newer engine is that the engine wear/tear after residue might not be as high as that of a newer car. but its all going down the same hill. the onlt thing if the time T........taken to get there.

I think the reasoning is that new fluid has new detergents that are at full strength and they tend to clean things up that are in many ways keeping the transmission from having issues.
With that being said, the big issue with the Honda trannys is thermal breakdown of the fluid, so I try to change it every year (15-20K) and keep up with it rather than having "burnt" fluid for lubrication.
