Fan stays on when I turn the car off

I have a 07 CL with 140K miles. The transmission when out about 18 months ago. When I drive the car in summer (like now) the car's fan stays on for a really long time. I drove it about 10 miles and the car's fan stayed on for over 15 mins, what is causing it to get so hot so fast?

this is my list... I have a 2001 CL S

is it actually running hot or is the fan thermostat malfunctioning (unlikely but possible)

bad radiator cap (best bet)

bad water pump,

thermostat

a small radiator leak

a small hose leak

poor coolant mixture

... also see if your coolant reservoir has anything in it... it should always have a small amount of coolant too...

this is in no particular order after the cap

hope this helps!
