Some people like the wood trim kit. Is that the part that's fading?

Yes it will, as long as you prep it properly.

Anyone know what color most closely matches an Ebony interior? I have fading/slight peeling on the top of my steering wheel (12 o'clock).

Black wheelskins cover. Or buy a new steering wheel. They pop up on Ebay all the time. May find one in the black market as well.
Only problem will be install a new wheel. It's labor intensive because of the airbag.

Thats the only thing I'm afraid of is the airbag. I don't think I have the balls (for lack of a better word) to mess with anything airbag related. Thinjim had one for sale but unfortunately had the same wear that mine has. As far as you know is it possible to get it reupholstered?
