Engine VIN Location?
Is the VIN number located on the engine somewhere?
I wanna see what year and mileage the engine was pulled at from carfax.

i believe there is the vin on the trans, or some number on the trans. around the starter.

i think a partial vin is also located on a sticker near the timing belt cover and there is one stamped on engine below the oil cap. its a square piece of metal.

IIRC theres a vin plate (should be thin, long and green) down low on the block. On my K20 its in the back of the motor near the intermediate shaft. Im not sure if the Js have the same.
