Driving in 4th to preserve tranny?

I have periodic slight shuddering around 1500 rpm with the tach going north and south a few hundred RPM. It has been suggested in posts that the 3rd gear is going.

I put the lever in 4th gear and drove it this morning and it kept me out of the 1500 rpm range but I had no issues.

Is keeping it in 4th around town going to hurt the transmission? I understand that I will sacrifice a few mpg....

Some of you out there know more about these cars than the Acura techs. What do you think??

Once it starts slipping there is not much you can do. Check tranny fluid and look around for new tranny. Best choice would to find one from odyssey or newer 3gen TL.

There is no slippage. Just some light shuddering on occasion at 1500 RPM and 35MPH..

If it does go your suggestion is indeed right on the money.
