If I am searching on ebay, do they have to be car model specific or will any d2r hid bulb fit? Also, they range from 3k to 12k. What is the difference besides color? Driver side is out but will replace both. Napa wanted $60 for one and they start out at 99 cents on ebay. Thanks in advance.

 

Well, I ended up going with a pair of D2S 12000k bulbs. Changed out the fuses to 20 amp. Been working great for 3 years, nice and bright till about a week ago. Then I started getting a flickering on the right side, then out. Turning the switch off and on, it will stay on for about 10 seconds. Reading the other posts, led me to believe it was the ballast going bad. I had kept my old oem bulbs (4000k) and put one in the problem side. Its still on after about 30 minutes.

What is the highest I can go over 4000k oem and what is the difference with a D2R bulb, which someone else replaced their oem bulbs with?

Hey all - I know its not that old of a thread, but are there any new options in 2022? I need to figure out something to replace my bulbs and ballasts...only the high beams work and I've passed off enough people at night lol

 

Amazon has d2s/r bulbs that work in either style. I used same ones on 2g and 3g acuras. Ballasts if they dont make em anymore, prob junk yard or ebay.
