Cylinder 4 Misfire

I'm getting a CEL that Scan tool is telling me is cylinder 4 misfired. Car runs seemingly normal (only the slightest power loss, scared to test VTEC/WOT). I cleared the code 2 days ago, and it's back now. I changed the plugs with itanium plugs about 7500-8000 miles ago with no problem. I was hoping it was plug wires, but just learned that coil packs are used. Anybody have ideas on what it could be? I'd replace the packs if I knew that was the issue, but don't want to throw money away (both at the parts and at the shop!) Thx in advance

Just checked again, and it's Cylinder 2,4,5 now. Error code P0302, P0304, P0305 and the multiple misfire code.

Love talking to myself

So I took my car into the dealer to have the SRS light checked, and they told me that Cylinder 4 was misfiring and that it could be caused by a bad Fuel Injector, or a bent valve. When I hook up to it, I get cylinder's 1,2,3,4,5 have misfired.

Here's the problem, my car is running fine, it's not rough, it's not missing, plenty of power, and the last tank I got 25 mpg (with Fuel Injector cleaner in it.) Could this possibly be caused by a bad sensor?

Possible EGR ports starting to plug up on you.
Could be valves out of adjustment- usually exhaust valves tighten up over time, causing slight mis fire.
I've seen some bad injectors as well.

I'm not sure if this can help but, I just experienced rough idle this past weekend & cel went on. After asking a buddy to check out what's the cause, shows that misfires on cylinders 2,3,4,& 5. Bought new coils & plugs, replaced everything and now runs fine. Car has 119+K miles & still on original tranny that's shifting a-ok! (knock on wood)

usually it's a bad coil pack. it's hard to pinpoint so you can buy 1 and replace it on the one you suspect is bad. and make sure you've done the spark plugs too.

Coil pack. My Cl read the same error code after the SRS light was checked out. I changed the coil that was bad, as well as my plugs and my valve cover gasket need to be changed as well. Now runs fine, and all warning lights are off.

i would just like to add my two cents here. i recently had the car studder on start up. tcs light and C.E.L. check engine light illuminate when my fiancee was driving. she freaked out. thankfully i did not panic and ck'd the forum. To make a long story short after t/s trouble shooting the bad ignition coil i determined it was cylinder 4 the front row of spark plugs passenger side and replaced it with a coil pack that cost me $46.00. without a lot of head aches. my local parts store Arch Auto parts hooked me up in NYC. Problem solved and thanks to everyone who contributes on the forum
