Clicking sound when climate control is off (or below 75 degree setting)

Here's a strange one -- I've tried some searches, but haven't found the answer (or am using faulty search parameters).

On my '01 CL-S, I hear a very loud clicking sound when I turn the climate control to the "OFF" setting, or when I set the climate control for a temp below 75 degrees.. When you turn it back on (provided the temp is above 75 degrees), the sound goes away.

Any thoughts on this? The sound seems to be originating from underneath the dash, near the passenger side.
